Associating Flags with Subpages

Hi

Very new to demo pad and trying to work out how the example projects are working.

I want to make a button bring up a sidebar (or subpage). I can see how the actions set the flags but how does the software know which subpage the flag is referring to? In the 4 room iPad project the room 1 button sets the rooms group to off and then sets the room 1 flag to on.
This button brings up the sidebar called Room1Devices. I can't seem to work out how the software knows that the room1 flag refers to the Room1Devices sidebar.

It uses the 'Reveal' menu for the subpage instance, any object on a page has the Reveal menu option which links its appearance to a flag.
