What conversion do I need

Post by Cheesegeezer » Sat Mar 05, 2016 6:17 pm

Sorry for a lot of questions.

Using the Centro-8 to send IR commands to a SKY+HD box.

Do I just us no conversion for the Pronto HEX format codes or is there a conversion required?

Thanks

You can convert the Pronto Hex to IR commands in the designer software.

Thanks for the reply. Im aware i can convert however there are 3 options
Global cache
Keene
No conversion
These relate to how ir commands are converted.

I have bought the Demopad Centro-8 and this has the capability to send ir commands to equipment.

I need to know which conversion algorithm to apply if any.

Im currently offshore and dont get back until next week, so i'm trying to do most of the programming in the software before i get home and try this for real.

Thanks again

Convert to the Global Cache sendir format. Otherwise copy and paste and convert the commands individually , you can then name each command with your own name format.

When entering IR codes for use in a Centro-8 / C, you don't strictly need to do any conversion. The Designer software will recognize either Pronto Raw, Global Cache, or Keene IR formats & act accordingly. It is sometimes more useful to use Global Cache format though as idealhomes suggests, as it makes it easier to manually alter repeat counts within the code etc.

When using a Centro with Global Cache format, you also do not need to worry about the sendir,x:x component of the command to change the routing (as you would have to if using Global Cache hardware), the IR port that the code emits from is determined by the IR command folder you put it in, not the sendir,x:x part of the command.
