XMBC

Post by starwarsmike » Wed Jan 08, 2014 3:18 pm

Anyone

I have installed XBMX 12.3, but cannot get web interface working.

I have ticked all settings required, set port 8080.

Web Url: 192.168.1.58:8080

I'm I doing something wrong?

I can control the XBMC via App on port 9090 not problem.

Any help appreciated

Michael

Hi Mike,
Use the JSON method I gave full details in another post.

Hi again

I tried browser command.....http://192.168.1.203:746/jsonrpc?reques ... %22id%22:1}

results = {"id":1,"jsonrpc":"2.0","result":"OK"}

Presume this means it working?

In my web view i have http://192.168.1.203:746 is this correct?

I clean installed 12.3 also. Still not working??

It's Ok, I got it working. I didn't appreciate that i needed to setup 2 devices, one on port 9090 and another on my chosen port for web interface.

Thanks again

Strange!! i take that back, you don't need 2 devices setup. I deleted it and changed the port to 8082 and it worked. seems other ports i tried didn't work....any got it going.

Mike,
Like I stated in the post that I gave you a link too....
You do not need to set any port in XBMC, the only setting you need with JSON is the 9090 setting in the Demopad device.
The 9090 is hard coded into XBMC, the port setting in XBMC is only for the Http interface.

I understood what you said...... I said I didn't have any issue with control via Json commands. I could remote control it no problem. It was the web interface I had the issue with. For some reason it didn't like port 8080, but when I changed it to 8082 it worked.

Cheers again
