LG TV RS232 Commands

Simple RS232 control for LG TV. Works with latest 4K models.
They come with an 1/8th inch jack instead of a standard RS232. I have included the pinout for those who want to make their own cable/adapter.
DB9 Pin 3 to 3.5mm Tip
DB9 Pin 2 to 3.5mm Ring
DB9 Pin 5 to 3.5mm Sleeve

Cheers for this - I've heard that you need toturn the TV on via IR first? Do you know if that's true or not? The model I'm going to be using is one of the ones with USB to RS control, so not sure if it works.

Hi - interested whether anyone has got these commands working with an LG TV... in particular one of the new flat OLEDs.
I was lucky enough to pick one of these up recently. I've managed to use these RS232 codes to turn the TV on (so I know I have the right cable type, RS232 baud, etc settings)... but can't get the source select (eg HDMI1, HDMI2) commands to work at all.
If anyone has been able to control the source selection on any of the LG OLEDs using RS232 I would be super grateful for an example of the correct syntax/ protocol.
